Most of proteins require post-translational modification on their amino acid residues in order to carry out their biological functions. JMCB has published many research articles on this topic in past years, including two collections (Wu, 2011, 2012). This issue collects more research papers that reveal new molecular mechanisms of protein modification involved in the regulation of immune responses to physiological or pathological stimuli.
